This Danube river golf cruise follows the river through Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. You’ll explore Passau, the City of Three Rivers, and stroll Linz’s Hauptplatz, Austria’s largest medieval square. The ship then sails the Wachau Valley past vineyards and castles to Melk Abbey and Dürnstein.
From there it’s on to Vienna, the City of Music, and the old town of Bratislava. The cruise finishes in Budapest, with Fishermen’s Bastion, the Chain Bridge and a final round of golf before you head home.
Avalon is consistently rated among the best river cruise lines, and its Suite Ships are built around space and choice. With a 3:1 guest-to-crew ratio and your SportsLink Travel hosts on board, you’re looked after from embarkation to the final night in Budapest.
All onboard meals are included, with complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, a daily Happy Hour and welcome and farewell cocktails. Every day includes Classic, Discovery or Active excursions, so non-golfing partners can explore while golfers play, and the ship’s Adventure Centre has bikes and e-bikes for free time. Starlink Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the ship. It makes this one of the most comfortable golf river cruises Europe has to offer.
Every round is 18 holes, and pull carts are included. Motorised carts can be requested for an extra fee. Courses were confirmed as available at the time of printing, so a course or day of play may need to be substituted.
Prices are in Australian dollars, per person sharing the selected room. Every Danube river golf cruise package covers everything in the itinerary: the cruise from Vilshofen to Budapest with all onboard meals, a welcome dinner in Munich, daily guided excursions, and five rounds of golf for golfers. Play with the same partner or group every day, or meet new golfers each round.
Not included: airfares, travel insurance, passport and visa costs, and items of a personal nature. Ask us for a flight quote from your home city.
Your booking is confirmed once your deposit has been received and processed.
